Comments Off on Who Is Eligible for a Mudra Loan? A Complete Eligibility Guide

PM Mudra Yojana, usually called PMMY, is a program run by the Government of India. It is meant to let micro and small businesses get funds for their daily needs and plans. It also backs self-employment.

Under PMMY, eligible applicants may seek a loan. They do not have to put up collateral. The money is routed through banks, NBFCs, and other approved financial institutions.

Understanding Mudra loan eligibility is the first step toward securing the right funding for your business.

What Is a Mudra Loan?

A Mudra loan helps small and micro businesses that are not farms and not corporate. You pick a loan type based on where your business is right now. There are three categories to choose from.

Shishu

  • Loan amount-up to Rs 50,000
  • Suitable for startups and new businesses

Kishore

  • Loan amount from Rs 50,001 to Rs5 lakh
  • Ideal for businesses looking to expand operations

Tarun

  • Loan amount from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh
  • Best suited for established businesses planning major growth

Benefits of Mudra Loans
